How to Play

Play Puppy Pile-Up online for free. Puppy Pile Up is a matching game where you have 60 seconds to match up sets of 3 or more puppies. Each time you match 5 or more puppies, you get extra time. How high can you score?

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select the Let’s Play button below the game’s title to begin.
Your web browser will automatically save your previous game’s score and your high score.
Game Controls

  - Using your mouse, left click and drag to link the puppies.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap and drag with your fingers to link the puppies.
    - Game Play

        Pause the game by selecting the Paws button on the upper left corner.
        Toggle the game’s audio by selecting the Bark button on the upper right corner.
        Select the menu button on the lower left corner to return to the welcome screen.
        Select the restart button on the lower right corner to start the game anew.
        Link 3 or more identical puppies in a chain to remove them from the playing field.
        To create a row, select one dog and drag a line down to the next dog.
        You can make rows horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, as long as they are adjacent.
        Line segments can abruptly change directions repeatedly.
        However, you can only link dogs together in a single pass. You can’t cross the same path twice.
        Remove as many dogs as you can before the timer runs out.
        You have 60 seconds to play at the start.
        Each time you link up to 5 or more dogs, you get extra time.
        You gain 2 more seconds of time each time you link 5 or 6 puppies.
        7 puppies or more net you 4 extra seconds.
        Scoring
        On the first time you score you score 5 points less than you would on all subsequent scores for the remainder of the game. For example, if your first move would normally be worth 350 points you will score 345, and then that same move will be worth 350 points for the rest of the game.
        Clearing 3 or 4 puppies nets you 350 points.
        The more puppies you link up, the higher your score is for each move, up to a point.
        Linking 5 or 6 is worth 1,000.
        Linking 7 or 8 is worth 2,400.
        Linking 9 or more is worth 2,100.
        Based on the scoring mechanics of the game it generally doesn’t make sense to try for lines longer than 8, as they are harder to get and your score is actually less than if you got 7 or 8 in a row.
        The optimal length to aim for is 5 to 8 so you keep boosting your score and time.
        Strategy
        Extend your game time by focusing on linking between 5 or more puppies.
        Remember, The puppies don’t have to be in a straight row.
        Use diagonal connections to link squares of puppies together.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for dog lovers and connect 3 players of all ages.
        The game has no adult content.
