Play Cooking Mahjong online for free. Cooking Mahjong is a timed 25-stage culinary-themed mahjong solitaire game where players match tiles needed to complete recipes. How many levels can you beat? This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the green and white Play button on the game’s welcome screen.
The welcome screen also has buttons for game help, your local high scores, and access more games.
The lower left corner of the welcome screen has a language select button while the lower right corner of the game has buttons for social sharing & reading developer information.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button to select a tile associated with a recipe. Continue to click other tiles associated with that recipe until the recipe is complete.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap tiles needed to complete a recipe with your finger.
    - Controls & indicators
      - The upper left corner of the game shows the recipes you need to make along with how many you have remaining for each recipe.
      - The right rail of the game has all other controls & indicators. At the top there is a full screen mode, followed by your cumulative game score, your current level, and how much time you have remaining to beat the current level.
      - The bottom of the right rail contains a pause button, a sound control button, a music control button, and buttons to shuffle the tiles or request a hint.
      - Game Play
        Matching open tiles
        Typically in mahjong players match tiles of the exact same type, however in this version of the game players match the tiles which are needed to complete a meal shown in the upper left corner of the screen.
        Whenever you complete a recipe those related tiles are removed from the playing field and the needed quantity of that recipe is decreased by one.
        A tile is considered open if either the left or right side of it is open & there is no tile above it.
        Open tiles have a lighter color & tiles which are not open have a darker color.
        Scoring
        Your game score is cumulative across all levels.
        Each match you make is worth 100 points.
        Requesting a hint costs 300 points.
        Shuffling tiles costs you 500 points.
        If no matches remain tiles will automatically shuffle without costing you points.
        Each second you have remaining when you complete a level is worth 30 points.
        Time & levels
        Each level has a unique time limit based on the complexity of the level.
        If you do not beat a level within the time limit it is game over.
        If you do not click the End Game button but instead refresh your web browser you can continue on the prior level you played by selecting Continue Previous Game on the welcome screen after pressing the Play button.
        If no remaining matches can be made due to the tile configuration & a shuffle will not fix it then you beat the level even if you did not complete all recipes.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for people of all ages who like cooking, eating, or mahjong solitaire games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
